ADVANCING VIRTUAL CARE, SINGHEALTH POLYCLINICS (SHP) LAUNCHES TELEHEALTH HUB AT EUNOS POLYCLINIC IN 2026
Singapore, 17 October 2025 - SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP) will launch its first Telehealth Hub at Eunos Polyclinic, set to open in the first half of 2026. This new centralised facility will serve as the nerve centre for SHP’s expanding suite of virtual care services, reinforcing their commitment to delivering integrated, accessible and sustainable healthcare for all. It will be SHP’s first step into the future of virtual care delivery.
The announcement was made at the SHP 25th Anniversary Dinner event on Friday, 17 October 2025, which was graced by Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Mr Ong Ye Kung.
Designed for Collaboration and Comprehensive Care
The Telehealth Hub is designed to reimagine the way care is delivered by bringing doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff together under one virtual roof. This multidisciplinary collaboration ensure patients receive more holistic and coordinated care.
More than 58,000 patients are expected to benefit from this service in the first year of operation, gaining access to more convenient, timely and coordinated care through the hub. The initiative aims to enhance patient experience by reducing the need for in-person visits, streamlining follow-up processes, and ensuring seamless access to multidisciplinary support from the comfort of their own homes. Beyond that, it also focuses on enhancing care delivery through closer staff collaboration. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff within the same virtual hub can communicate and collaborate more seamlessly.
“The Telehealth hub represents a bold and transformative step in redefining how we deliver care. By creating a central hub that brings together our multidisciplinary teams, from medical, nursing, pharmacy, dietetics, and ancillary, we are not only streamlining operations and alleviating space constraints in our physical clinics, but also opening new possibilities for virtual services to better serve the population in Singapore. The model can enhance the efficiency of our services, improve work satisfaction and work–life balance for our staff, and
ultimately benefit the patients we serve.” said Dr Gary Kang, Director, Regional Clinical Services, East. Dr Kang is also overseeing the Remote & Tech-driven Care Workgroup at SHP.
A Streamlined, Integrated Virtual Care Ecosystem
The Telehealth Hub will bring together SHP’s core virtual services, including medical, pharmacy, nursing, dietetics, telemonitoring, and administrative support into a single, coordinated system. By breaking down silos and improving care coordination, this initiative will enhance patient journeys across the polyclinics, while boosting overall operational efficiency.
Located within Eunos Polyclinic, the Hub will feature:
The Telehealth Hub supports the Healthier SG strategy, by enabling virtual health plan reviews and preventive care coordination for enrolled patients. This makes care more convenient and extend care beyond traditional walls.
Patients will be able to virtually consult a doctor, pharmacist, care manager (a nurse), and allied health professionals within one connected system. These services go beyond video consultations, offering phone consults and remote care monitoring for certain chronic conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and non-urgent general medical needs.
Virtual consultations can be scheduled in advance for patients with chronic conditions who require follow-up. Patients will receive their medications via delivery within three to five business days, with alternative options, such as PILBOX/EZYBOX lockers or self-collection from the polyclinic pharmacy.
“Although majority of SHP’s core virtual services have been included within the scope of the Telehealth Hub, physiotherapy remains excluded due to clinical limitations. Only very
specific conditions, such as knee osteoarthritis, are considered suitable for virtual physiotherapy, and even in such cases, an in-person assessment is required to determine patient eligibility,” added Dr Kang.
The future of Telehealth Hub
Looking ahead, the telehealth landscape is poised for transformative change over the next 5 to 10 years, driven by rapid advancements in technology and evolving patient expectations. Consistent with this approach, SHP anticipates expanding its suite of virtual care services, ensuring that more patients can access high-quality, and coordinated care from the comfort of their homes. Through the ongoing efforts, they aim to meet patients’ needs more holistically, keeping care connected, convenient, and truly person-centred.
