Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in SHP play an important role to our patients.
In SHP, the Pharmacy team has a vital role in providing pharmaceutical services to patients. Pharmacy Technicians process prescriptions, dispense medication to patients and advise them on the indications of medications and dosing instructions. Our Pharmacists ensure proper dispensing of medications, in accordance to good dispensing practices. They also provide advices and information to patients on drugs and other healthcare products dispensed in the pharmacy.
Other AHP comprises of Dietitians, Medical Social Workers, Oral Health Therapists, Physiotherapists and Podiatrists. Their professional practise enables them to provide interventions such as counselling and treatments to our patients.
The following professions must be registered with the respective Boards and hold a Practising Certificate before they can practise in Singapore. Pharmacists must be registered with Singapore Pharmacy Council, Oral Health Therapists must be registered with Singapore Dental Council and Physiotherapists practitioners must be registered with Allied Health Professionals Council.
