Profile

I graduated from the National University of Singapore Medical School in 2007, having been placed in the Dean’s list in the academic year of 2004/2005.

I was accepted into the Paediatric Medicine Seamless Training program by the Joint Commission on Specialist Training (JCST) in 2010, which was to equip me with the skills to practise the Art and Science of promoting and improving Child Health.  I subsequently attained the Masters of Medicine (Singapore) in Paediatric Medicine in 2012, and became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health concurrently.  During my Advanced Specialist Training years, I served as the Chief Registrar between 2014-2015. Having recently exited from the Paediatric Medicine Training program, I have embarked on my subspecialty training in Neonatology.

I am passionate about teaching and was the Chief Trainer of the NUS Biomedical Quiz for my alma-mater Hwa Chong Junior College, when I was a medical student.  I was the coordinator for the M.Med preparatory course in 2013 and received the NUS Role Model Award in 2014.

I was also actively involved in community service, including overseas medical mission trips organized by the Tzu Chi International Medical Association.

Knowing the importance of advancing the frontiers of Medicine, I am also passionate about clinical research.  I graduated from the Biostatistics course in 2012, and have represented Singapore General Hospital at various conferences.  I was honoured to have been awarded the Best Poster Award for the inaugural Singapore Paediatric & Perinatal Annual Congress (ISPPAC) 2012 for my study on the outcome of early term infants, as compared to late term infants.  I have also presented my posters at international conferences including at PSANZ Congress in 2012, and at the European Academy of Paediatric Societies (EAPS) congress in Barcelona, Oct 2014: Ten Year Study Of Prevalence and Diagnosis Of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) In An Asian Country: Implications  On Antenatal Diagnosis And Newborn  Screening.  In August 2018, I was awarded the first prize for oral presentation in the perinatal category for my study: The Efficacy of Screening for Congenital Heart Disease in a Tertiary Hospital in Singapore.
