"I started my career with the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) as a Research Coordinator in the Department of Neuroradiology, and transitioned to an administrative role in 2017. I now support the department and Centre in their education endeavours. I consider myself an atypical educator as I teach occasionally, spending most of my time researching and formulating ways to incorporate technology into learning experiences and curriculum delivery.
With the support of my colleagues, I developed a safety training programme using simulation technology for fellow radiographers, to equip them with knowledge on Magnetic Resonance safety and risk management. In our attempt to integrate a higher degree of self-directed learning in residency rotations, we also created a resource pack for our Residents to learn at their own pace, supplementing the existing educational activities by the department.
Even though we spend the majority of our time behind the scenes, I would like to commend my fellow administrators for being an integral part of the healthcare team that supports our patient-fronting colleagues. I'd also like to encourage them to continue partnering our care team to achieve our common goal of delivering quality care to our patients.
I am currently organising NNI's Education Day in October where our colleagues will convene to share best practices in interprofessional education and collaboration. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and outdoors, listening to music and playing games."
