Dr Rashida F Vasanwala is currently working as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Paediatric Medicine, Endocrine Service at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. She obtained M.D. (Paediatrics with gold medal) from India and MRCPCH from U.K. She started working in Singapore since June 2002 at KK Women's & Children's Hospital, initially at Children’s Emergency and then pursued & completed her advanced training in Paediatric Medicine & Endocrinology. She did her CPIP project on optimizing care of Children with head injury and was awarded best project of the year at the SingHealth Quality Convention in 2008. She has keen interest in research and has presented posters & papers in international conferences and published articles in international journals. She received the best case presentation award at the APPES Paediatric Endocrinology meet in 2008, Endocrine Trainee Day and Outstanding Abstract award by the Endocrine Society in 2010 & 2011 respectively. She is a passionate teacher and actively involved in the undergraduate and post-graduate teaching. She was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Rise award for academic year 2012-2013, 2016-2017, 2018-2019 by SingHealth residency. She was awarded Special Recognition Award for being a Role Model to the Medicine Graduating Class of 2018 by National University of Singapore. She has also received awards for clinical service in the form of EXSA Silver Service Quality Medal 2007, Singapore Health Quality Service Award Silver (2011-2012), Gold (2012-2013), Star award (2015-2016), Service from the Heart Award 2013, 2014, 2015 and Long Service award (10 years) in 2012. Besides academics she is happily married and blessed with two children. Her favorite hobbies are cooking and travelling.
