Dr Melissa Batilando has been a member of the Department of Neonatology in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital since 1998, after finishing her post-graduate training in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine at the Children’s Medical Center of Brooklyn in New York, USA.
Dr Batilando is a member of the department’s NICU team and has been in charge of the post-discharge follow-up of term and near-team newborns admitted to the NICU. Her interests lie in the fields of Neonatal Resuscitation, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Neonatal Ventilation and Post-operative Care, and Pain Management in Newborns.
She has received the Service from the Heart Award in 2017, Outstanding Clinical Teacher Award in 2009 and the Singapore Quality Health Service Gold Award and Star Award in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
