Profile

Dr Lee Shu Ying is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Paediatric Anaesthesia, KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Singapore. She is also a Clinical lecturer at YLL School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Clinical Adjunct Assist Professor, SingHealth Residency Clinical Physician Faculty.

She qualified for Masters in Anesthesiology in Singapore and also obtained the Fellowship for Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2008. She completed her paediatric anaesthesia fellowship, with a focus on ultrasound-guided blocks at Alderhey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, UK, and obtained the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy in 2012.

Having set up the Regional block service in the department, she is an advocate for and teaches ultrasound-guided regional blocks in children. She has presented widely in several regional and international conferences.

Beyond the hospital, she takes part in overseas humanitarian and teaching missions, as she loves travelling with a purpose. Her favourite places on earth is the operating room onboard a ship in Africa and the Singapore Botanic Gardens. If there is more than 24 hours in a day, she would learn music and baking.
