Flecainide - What is it for

Flecainide is used for the treatment of heart rate that is too fast (called tachycardia) or irregular (called arrhythmia) in conditions such as supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) or Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. It works by slowing an overactive heart and correcting irregular heartbeats to a normal rhythm so that the heart works properly to pump blood.

Flecainide - Additional Information

Blood tests may be required to monitor the level of flecainide, particularly in infants and young children.

A gene test may also be required to guide drug dosing and for making dose adjustments.
