"My role at the KK Breast Centre requires me to help patients with registration, enquiries, payment and assist the doctor during consultation.  There was a patient who came on her own and was close to tears before her biopsy.  I offered to accompany her and held her hand throughout the biopsy.  It was a small gesture that helped to calm her nerves.  As frontline staff, we are not medically trained to treat patients but we can do our best to alleviate their stress by giving them the best possible service and experience.

I also hope to raise community awareness about breast cancer and the importance of breast self-examination. Every interaction and opportunity to care for someone allows me to learn and gain new perspectives."
