Welcome to the 9th Singapore Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine Course (SHUMEC), jointly organized by the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). The course will be conducted from 4 to 8 November 2019.
The RSN and SGH have been in partnership since 2008 to advance the knowledge and clinical practice of underwater and hyperbaric medicine in Singapore. This collaboration has brought together the navy's experience in diving medicine, and SGH's expertise in multi-disciplinary patient management.
SHUMEC's teaching faculty comprises Singapore's leading practitioners in the field of diving medicine and hyperbaric medicine from the RSN, SGH and our key partners.
Participants will gain a strong foundation in the practice of diving medicine and hyperbaric medicine, and obtain the necessary knowledge to perform assessments for divers and compressed air workers.
Participants that complete the course may apply for registration as a Designated Workplace Doctor (Compressed Air Works) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
We are confident that this course will equip you with essential knowledge in diving and hyperbaric medicine that will be useful in your clinical practice.
