The 6th Asia Pacific Primary Care Research Conference (APPCRC) this year will break new ground as it is held in conjunction with Family Medicine Symposium*. This is the first time College for Family Physicians Singapore (CFPS) and SingHealth Duke-NUS Family Medicine Academic Clinical Programme (FM ACP) come together to jointly organise the APPCRC and FM Symposium.
The theme of the event- Advancing Best Care through Education and Research emphasises the importance of education and research in supporting and advancing the development of Family Medicine, and more importantly, bringing about better patient care across the continuum of care. Achieving positive health outcomes and efficient healthcare system can be as easy as ABC!
The event this year focuses not only on research and education in primary healthcare; it provides clinical updates to equip all Family Physicians with the latest clinical development and practices. The event is an excellent platform for networking and learning opportunities, as primary healthcare researchers and other healthcare professionals from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia and other neighbouring countries come together.
Eminent academics and experts from the three Singapore Medical Schools and Family Medicine departments from regional universities will be invited to be the speakers at the Conference. The keynote speakers include Prof Eric Finkelstein (Duke NUS Medical School), Prof Julian Thumboo (SingHealth-Duke NUS HSRI), Prof Lim Shih Hui (Group Education Director, SingHealth), Prof Helen Smith (Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine), Dr Dujeepa D.
