Overview of our Programmes
SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP) provides training for all categories of healthcare professionals working in primary care clinics or centres. Our training activities include attachments, formal programs and continuing professional development teaching sessions.
SHP is one of four accredited Family Medicine training centre in Singapore. We are involved in the training of both local and overseas undergraduates. In collaboration with the College of Family Physicians (Singapore), we provide postgraduate training for Family Medicine trainees / residents. We also conduct continual education activities for doctors involved in primary care through the teaching activities held at our nine clinics. All our clinics are accredited by the Singapore Medical Council to conduct core Family Medicine CME programs. Trainers in SHP are actively involved in Family Medicine training and examinations in Singapore.
SHP also trains nursing students on a regular basis and conducts updates for nurses. The Nursing Skills Enhancement Programme (SEP) is a structured programme to equip nurses with necessary skills to perform on various conditions commonly encountered in primary care. Both internal and external nurses are invited to attend. SHP also organises monthly updates for pharmacists as part of their professional development activities. The training activities for both Nurses and Pharmacists are accorded CNE and CPE points respectively.
Important professional development and academic workshops are also conducted in SHP. They include Retinal Photography workshops, research workshops, communication workshops and pedagogy workshops.
The SHP BCLS Programme is accredited by the National Resuscitation Council. SHP organises resuscitation classes for both healthcare workers and members of the public.
